Sunday 14 of June

Skiritida Forest is located in southern Arcadia, at a natural crossroads of mountains, with Mount Mainalo to the north, Mount Parnon to the east, and Mount Taygetus further south. The area is one of the most authentic and least touristic regions of the Peloponnese, known for its strong natural character and rich biodiversity.

Vlachokerasia is one of the surrounding villages and serves as the starting point of our hike.

Cost: 40€/person

The Route

The hike is 11 km and takes place in a completely natural landscape, with approximately 80% of the route under shade, making it ideal for the summer months.

The trail combines forest, river, and elevation:
We walk through dense forest and follow the Evrotas River and its tributaries.

The landscape changes constantly, keeping the route engaging and never monotonous.

Nature & Flora

In June, Skiritida is full of greenery, cool air, and natural aromas.

Along the route we encounter:

    • Pine and fir trees providing continuous shade

    • Chestnut, oak, and plane trees in wetter areas

    • Strawberry trees and willows near the water

    • Aromatic herbs such as oregano, thyme, and sage, filling the trail with scent
